Web accessibility

Web accessibility is about making websites, applications and content accessible to people with disabilities. More specifically, it means that people can perceive, understand, navigate and interact with the content.

Tim Berners-Lee, W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) Director and inventor of WWW said that “The power of the Web is in its universality. Access by everyone regardless of disability is an essential aspect.

Web accessibility addresses all disabilities that affect access, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive and neurological.

Web accessibility also benefits people without disabilities, for example people using mobile devices, people with temporary disabilities or situational limitations, older people and people with slower or limited internet connection.
